My deepest sympathy to the family for the loss of this wonderful man. He delivered my daughter in 1969 and was my doctor until he moved to Georgia. I have wondered about him so many times over the years. I felt so safe having him as my doctor. It broke my heart when he left Beckley. He was a good man and a superb doctor. We are all better people for having known him and having him as our friend.

Dr Merritt asked if he remembered me.He said he would always remember the people he served in McDowell Co. We had just thought of him last week wondering if he was still living. My husband,Dr.Carl R. Adkins, was a physician and practiced in Fayetteville, WV, as well as having privileges and serving a term as chief of staff at Raleigh General. Carl held Dr. Elliott in high regard. Carl died at age 61 in 2006 from a heart attack. Dr. Elliott was my doc when we lived in WV, and I thought he was wonderful---such a kind man. We moved to Hilton Head in '98, and did not know that Dr. Elliott had moved to Savannah. I know your pain, but please be comforted by the wonderful, kind, loving life that Dr. Elliott lead. My prayers are with all of you, Susan H. Adkins

To the family of Dr. Elliott, I would like to pass on my heart felt feeling of sorrow in this time of need. I worked for Dr. Elliott several years ago. At the time I was having problems in my life and he was the most understanding man who forgave me for my misfortunes in my life. I moved to Wisconsin not long after leaving his employment. When ever I came to Savannah I always made the time to stop by and see him to let him know I was doing well, and to have him meet my family and my beautiful daughter. He was always doing well and was very happy when he married his current wife. He was a loving caring man who worked his self to sorrow and almost sickness taking care of his first wife who was ill. He had very hard times but was always a wonderful and caring man. He will be missed by all who knew him. Please God Bless his family, friends and relatives in this time of morning.
